What and In Who do You Choose to Believe?

And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness. Genesis 15:6 (ESV)

Life can be daunting, circumstances and the enemy can work against us and rob us of our joy and peace.  Some of you have a harder time continuing to believe God is present when fiery darts come at us. If you are a believer these darts are being fired your way, so make a choice now.   “For we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” Eph 6:12

When a loved one suffers with mental health it can be so challenging and the ripple effect in our lives and the lives of other family members can be far reaching. When a loved one suffers from mental illness our beliefs can be challenged.

For you, when a loved one suffers from mental health what is your greatest challenge?

When a loved one suffers from mental illness the choice of what and who we build our beliefs upon is all-important and fundamental for our peace and joy!

The deeper our beliefs are rooted in God and His word the more peace and joy we will have during our trials.  Hope is found in God’s word because God is found in His word.

My BELIEF statement:

The bible is my strength, the source of my hope,

the very place I need to run when I am

fearful, confused, angry, lonely, tired, and when I have messed up!

It’s also where I run when life’s circumstances

need to be praised and God be glorified

because He allowed me to see HIM at work.

I take every promise in scripture and I choose to believe them for my life and the life of my loved ones.

If you love one with mental health challenges I encourage you to write your own Belief Statement today.

When I pray I believe, The Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the very One who calls the sun to rise each day hears my prayer and immediately moves for my good and His glory to answer that prayer.  I believe even though I may not see immediate answers to prayer, He is at work.

I follow the teachings of Pastor Chuck Swindoll.  May his words encourage you to determine what you will choose to stand upon and believe the next time you feel the suffering of mental health with your loved one. May his words encourage you when you may not feel like praying or it seems like you don’t know what to do next.

“This is how we need to pray, even when we feel as if we never want to pray again: "Lord, I don't feel like praying right now, but hear my prayer anyway. Lord, I will believe You, even though the tide is rising, and I'm already on tip-toe. I will believe You, even though it seems like it's taking You forever to keep Your promise. I will believe You, even though I've come to the ragged end of my strength, the dregs of my hope, the broken shards of my plans. I will not look for a shortcut. I will not rely on a carnal option. I will not retreat from the battle. I will believe You!"

God's promise to Moses is the same to us: "Because I am who I am, I will do what is best for you." There isn't a day on this side of eternity, no matter how grim, that can't be improved by clinging to that reassuring thought.
