3 Encouraging Reminders

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your

right hand and says to you,

Do not fear, I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)

May was Mental Health Awareness month and I set a goal to create a social media post every day for the entire month. Seemed an easy task at first and I gave it 100%. As the days of May rolled by, I became distracted and other tasks grabbed my attention. Upon missing a few consecutive days, I set the intentionality to get back on track. Then again, I missed a few days.

This left me wondering, how difficult is it for someone who struggles with mental health challenges to stay on track everyday with self-care? The amount of discipline, intentionality and focus needed can be overwhelming. My falling short of a simple goal does not adequately compare to the importance of caring for one's mental health, nevertheless I experienced a glimpse of how much effort may be needed.

I have gained a new perspective and can use different, more encouraging words the next time I see my loved one getting off track. It is good to remember and remind others that God takes hold of us and is always present to help.

3 Ways to Encourage Someone Who May Be Struggling

Remind Them, You are loved and worthy of love

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses,

made us alive together with Christ - by grace you have been saved-” Ephesians 2:4 (ESV)

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”  Romans 8:37 (ESV)

Take heart, we can start over tomorrow

“They are new every morning; great is your faithful". Lamentations 3:23 (NIV)

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away yet inwardly we are being

renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV)

God is here to help

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear, I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)

“Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.” Psalm 54:4 (ESV)
